Request Free Visit

If your company is based in Cheshire, Warrington or Halton you can receive a free confidential environmental, health and safety scoping review from a qualified environmental, health and safety business advisor.

To arrange your free visit contact us:
Telephone - 01606 723175
Email - Karen.szmidt@groundwork.org.uk

The scoping review will take between 45minutes and 2 hours (depending upon the issues within your company, and your own time availability), and will identify areas of risk within your business and opportunities for delivering improvements that will increase your sales, reduce your cost base and lower your company’s operational risks.

Opportunities we will seek to identify include:
1. Cost savings that can be achieved through improved resource efficiency.
This could include energy saving opportunities, waste and water reduction projects or packaging minimisation. To date we have identified more than £4million of savings in local companies.

2. Access to new supply chains and increased sales through the development of environmental, health and safety policies and standards.
Customers are continually raising the level of performance that suppliers have to achieve in their management of environment, health and safety. We will discuss with your current arrangement, identify areas of weakness that you may currently have and what steps you can take to enhance your corporate image and reduce your business risks through developing policies and standards (ISO14001, BS 8555, and ISO 18001). By ensuring you have the correct environmental, health and safety policies and standards in place, your business will be well positioned to target new customers and grow.

3. How to become a better ‘corporate citizen’.
Your Groundwork e3 advisor will discuss how your company can develop to ensure that it is an excellent employer and neighbour. Employee retention and motivation is critical for all businesses in today’s competitive labour market. A responsible reputation enhances your company's image so you can keep and attract good staff, that saves you on costs of recruitment and keeps your staff turnover down. If you're managing employee issues well you'll get more motivated, productive and loyal staff.

Being a Good neighbour will help you manage your relations with the local community and bring great benefits in terms of reputation, security, customers and employees. Your e3 advisor will discuss your own local circumstances, and what you business can do to enhance it local reputation.

Risks which we will review include:
1. Environmental, safety and health legal compliance issues
Each year a host of new regulations covering a range of environmental, health and safety topics are introduced, and that is on top of the regulations that are already in place. Your Groundwork e3 advisor will seek to identify any areas of weakness, and provide advice on how you can enhance your level of compliance.

2. Pollution
Many businesses store liquids, handle substances or carry out processes which produce emissions. If these processes are not managed correctly your business could cause pollution resulting in fines, clean up costs and loss of reputation.

Your Groundwork e3 advisor will seek to identify areas of risk within your business, and make recommendations on how you can minimise any risks.

At the end of your visit, you will be sent a brief report highlighting:

The visit and the report are confidential and this service is available free of charge to companies in Cheshire, Warrington and Halton.
